Zastava Works (Yugo), Model: M59/66 PAP (SKS), Cal: 7.62x39mm, MFG: 1969, S/N: F-127300, Semi-auto rifle, 22'' barrel.
HISTORY: The M59 was Yugoslavias copy of the Russian SKS-45 & resembled late Soviet pattern carbines, without the chrome lined bores. In 1966, with the Yugo military wanting every man to act as rifle grenade units as well as riflemen, the M59 was modified to fire 22mm rifle grenades. this was done by adding the unique grenade launching spigot at the end of the barrel. The grenade sights also acted as a gas shutoff when they were folded up & grenades were launched. About 132,000 Yugo M59/66 rifles were made.
CONDITION: the semi-pistol grip wood stock is excellent with little to no wear. The S/N is stamped into the left cheek of stock. Yugo SKS stocks are thicker than other countries SKSs, this was done to take the extra recoil from the rifle grenades. The receiver appears to have a arsenal refinish from refurbishment, & as such it rates 96%. The blued finish on the barrel rates 97%. The left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N. The right end of the barrel is stamped with import markings. all visible S/N marked parts are matching. The bore is excellent, it is bright with light use wear. The barrel holds a post front sight with protective round hood & flip up night sight. The rear of the barrel holds a tangent U-notch rear sight marked 1 to 10, with a battle zero notch marked ''1''. Flip up grenade sight has three range notches. The stock carries the correct rubber recoil pad, middle of pad is a trapdoor that contains a full cleaning kit. Rifle has a cleaning rod, affixed folding blade bayonet, the grenade launching spigot & grenade sights. Rifle comes with correct Yugo canvas sling. A Beautifull Yugo SKS in freshly refurbished condition. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1200
