Colt, Model 1877 ''Lightning'', CAL: 38LC, MFG: 1909, SN: 165537, Double Action Revolver, 3 1/2'' barrel. The top of the barrel is marked in two lines ''COLT'S PT F.A MFG CO HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.'' & the left side of the barrel is marked ''COLT D.A. 38''. The left side of the frame has the standard three line patent dates. All matching SN on the frame, trigger guard & butt. The birdshead Colt hard rubber grips are excellent. The original metal blue finish rate 85% on barrel with loss due to some light pitting, while the blue on the cylinder, trigger guard & straps rates 90%. The case-hardend frame displays fantastic case-colors. This gun does not have the ejector, so is a ''Store Keeper'' model or a ''Sherriffs Model''. Bore is excellent. Integral v-notch rear sight & half moon blade front sight. An overall excellent example of an all original 1877. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 2000 to 3000
