Smith & Wesson, Model Number One - 3rd Issue, CAL: 22 RF SH BP, MFG: 1868-81, SN: 106812, Single Action Revolver, 3 1/8'' barrel. This revolver has been fully & professionally restored. Similar to Second Issue, except has a fluted cylinder, round barrel & bird's head grip. This model has it's own SN range (1-131163). The top of the barrel is marked ''SMITH & WESSON SPRINGFIELD MASS PAT APR 3, 55. JULY 5, 59 & DEC. 18, 60''. The full SN is stamped on the butt. The bird's head grips are excellent, having been refinished. The restored nickel finish rates 99% overall, with some small areas of cleaned pitting under the nickel. Bore is fair, bright & clean, but with roughness & intermittent pitting. Notch rear sight & low profile blade front sight. A nicely restored early S&W revolver.
