Smith & Wesson, .32 Safety Hammerless - 1st Model, CAL: 32 S&W (BP), MFG: 1888-98, SN: 44541, Double Action Revolver, 3 1/4'' barrel. The top of the barrel is marked with the standard two line name & patent dates. The full SN can be seen on the butt. The original Gutta Percha S&W monogram grips are very good & solid. The grips appear aged, having toned to a mocha brown. The inside of the grips are more true to the tone of Gutta Percha being dark brown, almost black in color. The original nickel finish rates 10% on the barrel, with nickel in protected areas. The frame rates 50-60%, with concentrated wear to the straps & right side of the frame. Bore is good & bright, with consistent spotting throughout. U-notch rear sight & pinned blade front sight. The first model is distinguishable by the push down barrel latch set in the middle of the top strap. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 250 to 450
