RARE!! F.Reuthe's, Model 2 Animal trap gun, Cal: .28, MFG: 1850's-70's, S/N: 708, Percussion double barrel smoothbore, 3'' barrels. The main body & barrels of the trap are made from cast iron with a black paint finish, paint is cracking & flaking off in places, other metal parts show some finish thinning & patina. has a canvas sack attached to the rear bar. Casted into the top of the trap is ''HARTFORD CONN'', ''F.REUTHE'S PATENT'', ''MAY 12TH 1852''. The ring at the back is meant so the trap can be tired to a tree branch or other like place & the trap hangs pointed at the ground. The metal barbs cock back & fires the guns when pulled.
