German Ersatz (substitute) Bayonet with sheath, bare metal with patina speckling, steel grip, brazed on guard, right side of handle stamoed ''4222'', blade has been shorted to 10'' by Turkey. These were made during WW1 in Germany in small shops as a stop gap to the standard issue bayonet slow production, they would be sold off to turkey after they were replaced by standard bayonets where they would shorten the blade from 12'' to around 10''. Grade: Very Good ++ - Value: 20 to 60
