RARE Frank Wesson, Model Type 6th Two Trigger Rifle, Cal: 32 Long RF, MFG: 1876-88, SN: 245, Single Tip-up Action, 26'' Octagon barrel. The original straight grip wood stock is excellent, with minor scratches, scrapes & contusions to the original finish. The metal finishes have worn mostly gun metal gray, with a thin brown patina. The top of barrel is stamped ''FRANK WESSON WORCESTER MASS, PAT'D OCT. 25 1859 & NOV. 11 1862'', SN ''245'' stamped on bottom of the trigger guard. The rifle is fitted with a sliding large disk, flip-up tang sight, while the barrel has a fixed rear & a folding globe front sights. Bore is very good, with some roughness amongst strong rifling. Forward trigger releases the action. Stock carries the original nickeled crescent metal buttplate. According to the definitive book on Frank Wesson firearms, ''Frank Wesson Gun Maker'' by Woods, Littlefield & Rowe, on page 120 they indicate less than 1000 of this particular model were produced. Its rarity & the original condition make this surviving example very collectible. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1500 to 2500
