US Imported, Cavalry saber Circa 1820's-30's, patterned off a British P1796 light Cav Saber, no makers marking but closely resembles swords made by JS & Co., a British sword maker around that time. Wood grooved handle, brass pommel & guard, blade acid etched & remains of a gold inlay of ornamental engravings, a American great eagle, crossed cannon, shield, & cannon, & ''E PLURIBUS UNUM'' in a banner, spine is marked ''S''. Blade markings are faint from wear. Wood guard has cracks & small chips, brass parts have a light patina, handle & guard are loose, Blade has a dark patina, blade has light roughness across the blade. Grade: Good ++ - Value: 80 to 160
