Savage, Model 1899, marked .303 Savage Cal., MFG. 1906, SN: 70024, Lever Action Rifle, 20'' Tapered round barrel, The factory straight grip wood stocks are good & solid, despite a 5'' stress crack emanating from the upper tang running back to the comb & two shorter stress cracks emanating from the tower tang. There is a screw on the left side of the wrist that has stabalized the stock at the wrist. Therewas also a break at the toe which currently has wood fill to maintain the toe shape. There are also numerous small to large scrapes, scratches & contusions & an added layer of finish over the remains of worn original finish. The metal surfaces have worn mostly gun metal gray, with some minor remnants of original blue in the most protected areas. The rifle is fitted with an adjustable Lyman 57AS side mounted receiver sight, while the barrel carries an adjustable rear sight , missing the elevator, & a Marble Sheard blade front sight. Bore is very good. The stock carries the original crescent metal buttplate. Likely a good shooter. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
