J. Stevens A & T. Co., Model No. 1 Tip-Up Rifle, Cal: 25 RF, MFG: 1888-95, SN: 26327, Single shot, tip open, 23 3/4'' Octagon barrel, The original straight grip wood stock is excellent, with very few light handling marks to the original finish. This model produced without a forend. Left side of barrel is marked ''J. STEVENS A. & T. CO. CHICOPEE FALLS.MASS. PAT.SEPT.6.1864''. The metal blue finish to the barrel rates 60%, toning to a brown patina as it thins. The receiver is silver. Scalloped trigger guard. The barrel carries a fixed rear & a elongated blade front sight. Bore is good, with areas of roughness amongst strong rifling. Stock carries a crescent metal buttplate. This is a nice looking representative example of the Stevens tip-up rifle. Antique, No FFL Req - Value: 600 to 900
