Winchester, Model 70, CAL: marked 270 WIN, MFG. 1941 (Pre-64), SN: 37611, 24'' Round tapered barrel. This rifle was fully & professionally refinished. The factory checkered & flat pistol grip wood stock is excellent, as professionally refinished. The hand cut checkering was expertly retraced & points are sharp. There are only a couple of handling marks or contusions to the excellent finish. Ebony forend tip & a non-factory plastic pistol grip cap. There was filler compound used in the stock along the edges of the barrel & along the top edge of the left side of the receiver where a scope mount preciously resided. Refinished appearance of the stock is excellent overall. The metal blue finishes have been restored rating 95% overall, with the finish on the floorplate & trigger guard not at professionally refinished & rating 80%. Two extra screw filled holes on the left side of receiver. Bore is excellent & bright. The receiver carries a Nikon Monarch 4-16X42 scope, while the barrel has single leaf folding rear & replaced ramp front sight. The stock carries a 3/4'' thicker plastic buttplate. Inlaid sling provisions. A nicely restored & sharp appearing pre-64 model 70. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 700 to 1200
