Sporterized Rifle, Built from a Ludwig Loewe & Co. Model 1891 Argentino Mauser Action, CAL: Currently 308 WIN, MFG: 1891 Action, SN: D0442, Bolt Action Rifle, 22'' Round barrel. The original wood stock has been cut down, sporterized, sanded & refinished & rates very good. There remains several cartouche & inspection proofs stamps on the stock. The barrel appears to be a replacement, while the receiver, mag, trigger guard & bolt appear original military. The metal blue finish rates 60% overall, with more wear exhibited on the mag & trigger guard. The barrel carries a Williams slide adjusting rear & a ramped blade front sights. The barrel has the caliber stamping, while the receiver carries proofs, original address & SN stampings. Bore is very good & bright. Stock carries the original metal buttplate. Sling loops. WARNING: These actions were not tested & proofed to handle the pressures of today's modern 308 caliber ammo. We do not recommend firing the rifle with commercial 308 ammo & are therefore selling the rifle as a parts rifle. Fire at your own risk. Sold ''As-Is'' with no returns.
