Remington, Model 8, 30 REM CAL, MFG. 1913, SN: 30500, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' barrel. This rifle's wood & blue were previously restored long ago & the rifle has since been used to display the current wear. The original round knob pistol gripped wood stocks are very good & solid. There are minor to small, scrapes, scratches & contusions to the wood, with most of the detractants found on the right side of the stock. The refinish has a darkened rich appearance, without little wood loss during the old refinish. There is a 1 1/4'' long sliver of wood missing from the forward edge of the left side of the forend. There is also some chipping or wood loss around the edge of the forend retention screw hole. The metal blue refinish rates 60% on the barrel, 40% on the receiver, with spotty areas of loss & additional loss on the mag which is toning to a brown patina as it thins. The barrel carries a standard adjustable rear sight & a W.F. Sheard elongated blade front sight. Bore is good, but with some roughness amongst strong rifling & a shadowing of a slight ring 1'' from muzzle. The stocks buttend has been flattened straight across, without much wood loss to LOP. It carries a reproduction of the original Remington plastic buttplate, which is oversized at the toe by 1/4'' & is loose due to one hole being slightly oversized for screw. 5 rd fixed magazine. A well used hunting rifle, but with lots of hunting life remaining. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 400 to 800
