Remington, Model 8, .30 Rem Cal, MFG. 1936, SN: 69240, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' barrel. This rifle is very late production, coming from the last year of cataloged production, before the release of the Model 81. The original straight grip & schnabel forend stocks are excellent, as very nicely refinished with a high gloss finish. There are very few tiny minor handling marks or light contusions remaining to the excellent finish. The original metal blue finish rates 80% on the barrel, 75% on the receiver, with a bit more thinning to the mag. The blue is starting to tone plum as it thins, particularly on the mag. This is common in late production model 8 & early production model 81 rifles due to the bluing process used during this era. Bore is excellent. The barrel carries a standard adjustable rear & a Marble No.6 silhouette & ivory bead front sight. The stock carries a serrated, lower tang, crescent metal buttplate. 5 round fixed magazine. Tight action. An overall excellent condition rifle which presents very well due to the nicely refinished wood. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
