Remington, Model 81, 32 REM CAL, MFG. 1937, SN: 5597, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' barrel. A 3rd year production rifle carrying the early generation beavertail wood. The original wood stocks are very good, with numerous minor to small scratches, scrapes & contusions. There are a couple of larger contusions or abrasions on the right side of the stock & the pistol grip, as well as one larger contusion to the left side of the forend. The original wood finish has worn thin & has darkened from use & oils. The original metal blue finish has worn mostly gun metal gray on the barrel, with a spotty thin brown. The receiver carries 30% coverage of original blue which is toning brown, with spotting in areas of loss. The receiver is fitted with a Marbles flip-up tang sight, while the barrel carries filler screw filled rear provisions & a D.W. King white beaded blade front sight that has abrasions & wear. Bore is excellent & bright. Stock carries the Remington checkered metal buttplate. 5 rd fixed magazine. A solid early 81 beavertail rifle, with honest wear & lots more adventures to provide.
