Remington, Model 81, 32 REM CAL, MFG. 1938, SN: 6173, Semi-Auto Rifle, 22'' barrel. The original flat pistol grip wood stock is very good & solid, having been sanded & refinished. There is a small inlaid wood patch in the belly of the stock where a sling stud likely once resided. The metal is proud to the wood around the wrist & receiver. The forend is a later factory replacement as this rifle should carry a beavertail forend. It has also been nicely refinished. Both stock & forend show few handling marks & present nicely. The forearm has an open hole in the belly where a screw once resided. The original metal blue finish is toning to a brown patina as it thins, with 20% coverage on the barrel & 30% on the receiver. The barrel carries standard front & rear sights. Bore is very good, bright & clean. Stock carries the Remington checkered metal buttplate. 5 rd fixed magazine. A nice presenting standard 81 rifle.
