JP Gemmer, Hammer Double, CAL: 10GA, MFG: 1862-1915, SN: 39, Break Action SxS, 30'' barrels. The side plates & barrel rib are marked with the maker. The original checkered round knob wood stocks are very good & solid. There are a couple minor edge chips & a couple popped grains, along with contusions, dings, scratches & scrapes. Protective oils have been added over time and have contributed to some areas of darkening. There is an inlaid blank gold shield inscription plate in the belly. The laminated steel pattern on the barrels is barely visible & has mostly toned to a dark brown patina. The receiver & side plates have also worn to metal gray & toned to a brown patina. The receiver, side plates, trigger guard, hammers, break lever & forend release lever all display intricate ornamental engraving. Bores are fair, with pitting throughout. The barrel holds a front bead. The stock has a factory checkered buttplate. Double triggers. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
