Saxton (Belgian) Hammer Double, CAL 12GA, MFG: 1880's, SN: 4784, Break Action SxS, 19 3/4'' barrels. Marked ''SAXTON'' on left side plate & ''MACHINE MADE'' on the right side. The barrel rib is marked ''BELGIUM LAMINATED STEEL''. The right side of the stock carries a Sante Fe New Mexico Deputy badge. The original checkered round knob wood stocks are good & solid, having been sanded & refinished at one time. There are numerous dings, scratches & scrapes throughout. The right side of the forend has a 4'' edge chip, with similar wear as the buttstock. The browned finish on the laminated steel barrels has almost fully worn to metal gray, with consistent spotting toned to a brown patina. The case-hardened receiver has almost fully worn to metal gray & toned to a brown patina, with the slightest amount of case-colors present in heavily protected areas. Bores are fair, consistently rough, with intermittent pitting. The solid rib holds a flat front bead. Stock has a grooved metal buttplate. Double triggers. Left hammer functions properly, right hammer won't lock back. We recommend this shotgun be inspected by a licensed gunsmith before use. SOLD AS IS NO RETURNS. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 200 to 400
