Ludwig Loewe & Co. - Berlin, Model: 1895 Chileno Mauser, Cal: 7x57mm Mauser, MFG: 1895, S/N: H1962, Bolt action rifle, 29'' barrel.
CONDITION: The straight wrist walnut stock is very good near excellent with superficial nicks, dings, & scratches. a couple vice marks present on stock. The left cheek of the stock is stamped with the Chilean acceptance stamp of the Chile coat of arms over ''1895''. The left side of the stock is stamped with the S/N, just below the S/N marking on the receiver. Small cartouche on the upper handguard. All markings are crisp & legible with exception to the acceptance stamp, its worn on the bottom edge. The metal carries a beautiful arsenal deep blue re-finish with only minor thinning of some markings & almost no visible roughness under the finish. The blued metal finish rates 99% on the receiver & 98% on the barrel with a few spots of light thinning overall with a few spots of light thinning & one small spot of roughness on the top of the barrel. The left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N, two proof marks, ''MAUSER CHILENO MODELO 1895'', ''MANUFACTURA LOEWE BERLIN.''. The top of the receiver is stamped with the Chilean coat of arms. Other metal parts have various proof marks. S/N matching bolt (& its components), magazine floorplate, trigger guard/magazine housing, & cleaning rod. The bore is excellent. Bright & mirrorlike with little to no visible wear. The barrel holds a barleycorn front sight with a flip-up ladder, V-notch rear sight marked 5 to 20. The stock carries a blued steel buttplate with finish wear around the edges. The rifle has both bottom sling loops & has a cleaning rod. a beautiful condition Chilean Mauser.
