Yugo, Factory 44 (Zastava) N.I. LLC import, M24/47 Mauser, Cal: 7.92x57 (8mm Mauser), MFG: 1928-41, S/N: 7568, Bolt action rifle, 23 1/2'' barrel.
CONDITION: The semi-pistol grip walnut stock is very as being lightly sanded & oiled. The right cheek of the stock has a arsenal wood chunk splice repair. There is a couple of grain pops on the end grain of the buttplate. Metal is proud to the wood around the toe. The left cheek of stock has a small roundel cartouche, faint older S/N over stamped with this rifle S/N (replacement stock from a repair arsenal or when it was converted). The metal was re-blued when it was converted with some original markings thin/faded & some spots of roughness visible under the finish. The metal finish rates 95% overall with light wear & thinning. The left side of the receiver is marked ''Preduzece 44'' in Cyrillic (Factory 44). The left side of the receiver band is marked ''M24/47'', ''A'' over ''13'' in a triangle (this marking is partially gone). The top of the receiver band is marked with the Yugoslavian crest. The right side of the band is marked with the serial block Cyrillic ''ZH'' followed by the S/N. The right end of the barrel is stamped with import markings. The barrel bands & other metal parts are marked with small proofs. S/N matching bolt & forced matched magazine floor plate (old # lined out). The bore is excellent. Its bright & shiny with little visible wear. This appears to be a M48 production barrel that was mated to a M24 action, which was common once the older model replacement barrels ran out. The barrel holds a hooded barleycorn front sight, with a tangent V-notch rear sight marked 2 to 20. The stock carries a steel buttplate that's toned gray with speckled brown patina & light rust. Rifle has the factory bottom sling loops & is missing the cleaning rod. Mechanical function appears solid. FFL or C&R Req - Value: 350 to 700
