Tula - Russia (CAI Import), SKS-45, Cal: 7.62x39mm, MFG: 1952, S/N: 3K3639, Semi-auto rifle, 20 1/2'' barrel.
CONDITION: The semi-pistol grip arctic birch stock is very good with the shellac finish mostly intact. The stock appears to have been repaired, lightly sanded & re-finished at a military arsenal at some point. There is small nicks, dings, & scratches in the stock from use over time removing some of the finish as well as common handling spots having thinned finish & are darkening from hand oils. The right cheek & wrist are speckled with a worn white paint. The stock has a arsenal toe repair/replacement that emanates to the rear sling mount. The left cheek of the buttstock is stamped with the Tula arrow in star logo over ''1952r'' over the S/N. The right cheek is marked with a Russian roundel cartouche. The left & right flats of the stock are marked with proof cartouches of a number in a diamond, around the recoil lug. The top of the wrist is stamped ''0'', the bottom is stamped ''B'', a small half visible star in circle stamp, & a triangle stamp. All the cartouches on the stock appear thinned & some are partially worn away. The blued metal finish rates 95% overall with some small scratches & lightly thinned finish in spots. Left side of the receiver is marked with the S/N over ''EN''. Left & right side of the receiver is marked with faded proof marks (could have been poorly struck) where the barrel meets the receiver. The left side of the chamber is marked with proof stamps. The top of the receiver cover is marked with the Tula arrow in star logo over ''1952r''. The end of the barrel on the right side is marked with import stamps. S/N matching magazine, trigger guard, receiver cover, bolt, bolt carrier, & gas tube (electro penciled which is factory). The bore is excellent. It's bright & shiny with little visible wear. The barrel holds a post front sight with protective globe, Tangent U-notch rear sight with a ''n'' battle zero mark & 1 to 10 marks. The stock carries a blued steel trapdoor buttplate with a cleaning kit inside. Plate has roughness & rust with over applied stock shellac on the sides. Rifle has the affixed folding blade bayonet & the cleaning rod. Rifle has both factory sling loops. Mechanical Function appears solid. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 700 to 1400
