Colt, M1878 Frontier Six Shooter, CAL: 44-40, MFG: 1898, SN: 38302, DA/SA Revolver, 7 1/2'' Barrel. The checkered vulcanized rubber birds head grips with Rampant Colt logos are very good, solid with some small nicks & dings throughout. The metal holds a nickeled finish. The nickeled finish covers a little less than half of the gun with the rest being gun metal gray with a thin brown patina & light speckled roughness throughout. The markings are slightly thinned but still visible & legible. Bore is fair to good, the rifling is thinned but pronounced, the bore has darkened with some roughness & light pitting throughout. There is a bulge in the barrel approximately an inch & a half from the muzzle. Mechanically fair, seems to function well for the most part. The action seems to function but the cylinder has a fair bit of play, this play is reduced substantially & the cylinder is fairly solid when the trigger is fully to the rear. A fixed front sight is integral to the barrel, a rear sight notch is cut into the frame. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
