Smith & Wesson, Military & Police (M&P) ''Pre-Model 10'', CAL: 38 SPL, MFG: 1945-47, SN: 823511, DA/SA Revolver, 2'' Barrel. The factory checkered wood grips with ''S&W'' medallions are very good, solid with substantial age soiling & wear. The factory blued finish on the gun rates approximately 90% with consistent wear from use including holster wear on the barrel near the muzzle, a drag line on the cylinder, & light thinning & patina on the front strap & backstrap of the grip. There is constant edge wear around the gun as well as some very shallow clean pitting which is concentrated on the right side of the frame near the Smith & Wesson logo. All of the standard markings around the gun are crisp. Bore is excellent, bright with strong rifling. Mechanically solid, seems to function well. The barrel holds a fixed front sight. A rear sight notch is cut into the top of the frame. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
