Smith & Wesson, Military & Police 4th Change (Model of 1905), CAL: 38 SPL, MFG: 1915-42, SN: 375782, DA/SA Revolver, 5'' Barrel. The factory checkered wood grips are very good, solid with substantial handling wear. The checkering has worn thin & one area near the bottom of the left grip panel has worn fully smooth. The factory blued finish on the gun has worn thin & toned to a brown patina. There is some original blue on the sides of the frame in low wear areas & in the flutes of the cylinder. The barrel has a substantial amount of shallow pitting mostly concentrated on the top. There is edge wear & sparsely speckled shallow clean pitting throughout the gun. All of the standard markings around the gun are visible & legible. Bore is good to very good, bright with strong rifling & some shallow pitting concentrated near the center of the bore. Mechanically solid, seems to function well. The barrel holds a fixed front blade sight. A rear sight notch is cut into the top of the frame. Comes in a correct Smith & Wesson box with a mismatched serial number hand written on the bottom & some packing material. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 350 to 500
