E. Whitney, Navy Revolver, CAL: 36, MFG: 1857-66, SN: 24128, SAO Cap & Ball Revolver, 7 5/8'' Barrel. The wood grips are very good, near excellent, solid with light wear & age soiling. The original blue on the barrel has thinned exposing gun metal grey & begun to tone to a brown patina for a mix of original blue, brown patina, & gun metal gray. The cylinder has a thick brown patina with nearly full coverage. The frame is a mix of exposed gun metal gray, brown patina, & original blue with some speckled clean pitting throughout. The brass trigger guard is tarnished with some small dings. Bore is poor, substantially darkened with visible rifling & deep pitting throughout. Mechanically solid, seems to work well. The barrel holds a fixed front sight, a rear sight notch is cut into the hammer. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 300 to 900
