Colt, M1911A1 ''U.S. Army'', CAL: 45 ACP, MFG: 1943, SN: 861412, Single Action Semi Auto Pistol, 5'' Barrel. The replacement checkered plastic grip panels on the gun are excellent with minimal wear. The gun appears to have been arsenal refinished. The parkerized finish on the gun is very good with some wear from use and edge wear. The front strap has some exposed gun metal grey from use wear. The markings are pronounced and legible, including the ''United States Property'' mark on the frame and the ''P'' proof mark on the top of the slide. Bore is very good, bright with strong rifling and light even roughness throughout. Mechanically solid, seems to function well. The parts fitment is quite good, the slide/frame fitment is fairly tight with very little play. This gun seems to be well built and is an excellent example of a mid war production Colt. The slide holds standard GI 1911 sights with a ''U'' notch rear sight and blade front sight. The sights are parkerized and have an all black sight picture. Comes with a magazine.
