Winchester, Model 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine, Third model, .44 WCF Cal., MFG: 1883, SN: 144060A, Lever Action Rifle, 20'' Round barrel does not have an address or a Winchester roll stamp, Full mag. The original wood stocks are fair to good & solid. The stock has been fully cracked from the buttend to the upper comb & has been glue repaired. The upper comb has a 2 1/2'' inlay repair & there is a large gouge on the right side of stock by the upper tang of the buttplate. The stock also has a filled sling hole in the belly of the stock behind the lower tang. The stock has been heavily sanded & both stock & forearm carry additional finish. The forearm band is missing the screw. The metal blue has worn to a mostly gun metal gray, with 25% of a blue toning brown finish remaining on barrel, 50% on mag. The receiver is gun metal gray, with some remains of blue & a thin brown patina. There is a line band around the mag 3 1/2'' from muzzle end & a few minor dents in mag. Bore is very good, but with some roughness. Metal carbine buttplate, with sliding trapdoor. Fixed rear & small blade on box carbine front sights. Missing dust cover. Original saddle ring, Smooth tight action. Model 1873 SRC are always fairly rare. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
