Winchester, Model 1886, CAL: 38-56 WCF, MFG: 1893, SN: 81120, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Octagon barrel, Full mag. The original straight grip wood stocks are good & solid, with the original thinning finish. The stocks display several contusions & handling marks, with two larger line contusions on the left side of the stock & few small gouges on the right side of the forend. There is a 2 1/2'' hairline grain crack at the forward end of the underside of the forend. There is also a 1'' square chip repair on the left front tip of the forend. The metal blue finish on the barrel has worn mostly gun metal gray, with a thin layer of brown patina & some remaining blue in protective areas. The receiver has toned or worn gun metal gray. Bore is good, with spotting & roughness amongst strong rifling. The barrel holds an adjustable rear sight & flip globe front sight with an ivory bead. Buttstock carries a crescent metal buttplate. Smooth tight action. A nice & original 1886 rifle. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 2000 to 4000
