Winchester, Model 70, CAL: 35 Whelen Ackley Improved (not marked), MFG: Late 1960's, SN: G225220, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' Heavy barrel. The original checkered flat pistol grip wood stock, with beaded cheek is excellent. There are light handling & storage marks to the original finish. The metal blue finish on the unmarked barrel is excellent, rating 97%. The receiver blue also rates 97%. There are no visible proof stampings on the barrel or receiver. There is no barrel address or legend stamped on the barrel, nor is there a visible caliber marking. Bore is excellent. The receiver holds a Leupold VX-3i 4.5-14x40mm scope, held by Leupold rings on a Redfield base. The top dial is factory marked with 35 Whelen caliber & bullet specs. No open sight provisions on barrel. Stock carries a solid black rubber recoil pad. Sling studs present. An excellent condition customized Model 70, with a high quality scope ready for the hunt.
