Winchester, Model 52B Sporter, CAL: 22 LR, MFG: 1938, SN: 54217, Bolt Action Rifle, 24'' barrel. The original, checkered, cheeked & capped pistol grip wood stock is excellent, with minor handling marks & dings to the original finish. The checkering is excellent & the stock carries the ebony forend tip. The metal blue finish rates 97% overall, with most wear towards the muzzle. Bore is excellent, with sharp rifling. The rifle has been upgraded with a Lyman Alaskan 2 1/2 Power scope, held by a quick release Griffin & Howe side mounted scope base, which provides a fast way to swap optics. The receiver still retains the original SN matching side mounted Lyman 57 peep sight base & it comes with the original SN matching slide adjusting peep sight for possible use with scope removal. The barrel holds a ramp elevated hooded front sight. Stock carries a checkered metal buttplate & sling provisions. Correct Winchester stamped detachable mag. An outstanding original example of a 52 A Sporter. Highly sought after & collectible. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 3000 to 5000
