Marlin, Model 39, CAL: 22 S.L.LR, MFG: 1920's, SN: S6975, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' octagon barrel. The original scalloped pistol grip wood stocks are very good, as lightly sanded & refinished. There are contusions, scrapes, nicks & thinning to the finish. The trademark bullseye is present on the bottom belly of the stock. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 60%, toned to a thin brown patina in areas of loss. The tube has worn to a gun metal gray & brown patina. The receiver is case-hardened has worn & toned mostly gun metal gray, with shadowing & muted case-colors remaining. Bore is excellent & bright, with light intermittent spotting. The barrel holds an adjustable rear sight & blade front sight. The buttplate carries an accurate replacement of a Marlin checkered plastic buttplate. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
