Bridge Gun Company, Double Hammer, CAL: 12 GA, MFG: 1884-89, SN: 4299, Break Action Hammer SxS Shotgun, Choke: MOD/IMP CYL, 32'' Belgian laminated twist barrels, with ''LAMINATED FIGURE BELGIUM'' inscribed on the solid matted rib. The inscription implies that this shotgun was manufactured by Henri Pieper, before his son Nicholas took over the business in 1889. Shotguns with the label Bridge Gun Co. were made by numerous Belgian gun manufacturers Henri Pieper (and probably his son Nicholas Pieper), Anciens Etablissments Pieper, Crescent Fire Arms Co., Harrington & Richards Arms Co., & J. Stevens Arms Co. All for the Shapleigh Hardware Co. (1843-1955). The checkered & flat pistol grip wood stocks are good, displaying several scratches, scrapes & contusions. There is a silver diamond shield inlaid in the flat of the pistol grip. There is a tight 1'' stress crack at the wrist emanating from the right sideplate. The metal finish on the barrels has worn & been scrubbed gun metal gray, with some brown spots. The case-hardened receiver displays shadows of faded case-colors in protected areas, but mostly gun metal gray. Serial number on the barrel & water table. Bores are very good. The solid, matted rib holds a single front bead. Buttstock carries the original metal buttplate. LOP: 14 1/4''. Antique, No FFL REQ - Value: 200 to 400
