RARE Remington, Model 1902 Rolling Block SRC, Uruguayan Contract Rifle, CAL: 7mm, MFG: 1902-17, SN: 273, Single Action Breech Loading Rifle, 20 1/2'' barrel. The original, straight grip wood stock, forend & heat shield are very good & solid. They display scrapes, nicks & dings to the original finish, with some protective oils or waxes. The right side of the stock is marked with a circular cartouche that reads ''EJERCITO / URUGUAYO'' around the border & ''8/A'' unit marks in the center. The metal blue finish on the barrel rates 80%, with dings & intermittent light pitting. The case-hardened receiver has fully worn or faded to gun metal grey, with very little outlines of case-colors remaining in protected areas. Bore is excellent, with strong rifling. The barrel holds a sliding ladder rear sight, with graduations from 2 to 13 & a tall blade front sight. Stock carries a smooth metal buttplate. Sling provisions on the right side of the stock & right side of front barrel band, but without the sling loops. Original saddle ring on bar. As all of these carbines went to Central & South America, it's a seldom seen variation in the U.S. of a Remington Rolling Block, & in excellent survivor condition.
