Colt Contract, Model: 1861, Cal: .58, MFG: 1864, S/N: N/A, Percussion muzzleloader, 40'' round barrel. The straight wrist wood stock is very good with scratches, nicks, dings, dents, chips & wear from use/age. The metal has toned to a even brown patina with gray showing in areas & cleaned pitting near nipple. Lock plate is marked, ''1863'', ''U.S.'', ''COLT'S PT F A MFG CO'', ''HARTFORD CT'', left side of barrel is marked, ''V'', over ''P'', over eagle, ''E.P.R. STEEL'', lower tang marked, ''H'' at the front, ''M'' at the rear, upper tang marked, ''W'', all barrel bands marked, ''S'' on left side & ''U'' on right side, has replaced new nipple. Bore is good roughness with visible rifling. barleycorn front sight, three position U-notch leaf rear sight with third leaf missing. Metal buttplate with brown patina & marked, ''US'' on upper tang, bottom sling swivels, has ramrod, comes with original nipple. Antique/muzzle loader No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
