Springfield. Model: 1884. Cal: 45-70. MFG: 1891. S/N: 518757. Trapdoor breech loader. 32 1/2'' Barrel. The straight wrist wooden stock is very good with scratches/dents/chips & wear from use/age, Faint ''P'' in circle cartouche on bottom of sock behind lower tang, ''SWP 1891'' in box cartouche on left side of stock above trigger. All metal has toned to a gunmetal gray with brown patina with cleaned pitting & no finish remaining. Rear of receiver is marked with S/N, top of breach block is marked ''US MODEL 1884'', Left side of barrel is marked ''V'', ''P'' over eagle ''I''. Bore is excellent, bright & mirror like. Blade front sight, windage adjustable U-notch & aperture ladder rear sight marked 2 to 20. Metal buttplate with patina & cleaned pitting, marked ''US'' on upper tang. Bottom sling swivels & stacking swivel, missing cleaning rod/bayonet. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
