The straight wrist wood stock is good with nicks, scratches, dings, dents, chips & wear from use & age, stock has darkened from oil & age, stock appears to have had stock replaced at arsenal from a older model of rifle that had a shorter lever, 1 3/4'' by 1 1/4'' inlaid piece of wood with brass cup for hook of lever to go into to on bottom of stock, 3/4'' in diameter circler piece of wood inlaid into bottom of stock with a nail securing, possible repair from where the old hole for where the hook of lever goes into used to be for the older short lever, filler puddy in spots on stock, 1'' by 1'' piece of wood repair inlaid into top of stock by wrist, multiple cracks at wrist of stock emanating from where stock meets receiver, all stock repairs are old & appear to have been done at a military arsenal a very long time ago, lettering/symbols painted in yellow on left side of stock. The metal has toned to a gun metal gray & brown patina with stock finish in areas, right side of receiver is marked crown over, ''V.R'', ''ENFIELD'', ''1886'', crown over downward facing arrow, ''I.V'', ''1.'', bottom of lever is marked with arrow facing up over ''WD'', crown over ''E'', ''20'', ''E-M'', lever appears to have been heated in one area possibly done to bend lever back straight at a arsenal, bottom front tang is marked with arrow facing up over ''WD'', crown over ''82'', ''M'', barrel is marked with S/N lined through ''B'' & proof marks.
