Steyr, Model: M95/30 Karabiner Stutzen , CAL: 8x56mmR, MFG: 1896-1918, SN: 6218X, Bolt Action Straight-Pull Rifle, 19 1/2'' barrel. The arsenal refinished semi pistol grip stock is excellent, with minor handling marks & light scratches, the stock has ''3858'' crossed out on left side of stock by buttplate, S/N on right side of stock by buttplate, possible force match when it was re-chambered & re-arsenal' d in the 30's, rear under sling mount has been removed & the hole was plugged, again possibly done when it was re-arsenal' d, buttplate is proud to wood at toe & at upper tang of buttplate The metal finish appears to have been restored when it was re-arsenal' d, rating 96% overall, Receiver stamped with ''STEYR M.95'' & SN. The barrel has S/N, proof marks along with ''S'' stamp over other faint stampings, the ''S'' stamp indicates it was rechambered to 8x56mmR, bolt has S/N electro penciled onto it, likely put on when it was re-arsenal' d to avoid mixing up the bolts. Bore is very good, shiny with spots of light roughness. Blade front sight, V-notch ladder rear sight marked 4 to 20. Buttstock carries a smooth metal buttplate. Side sling mounts. This rifle was originally a Karabiner Stutzen before it was converted, and was not a long rifle that was cut down which is the most common to find, & is a really nice example .
