Golden State Arms co. Model: No4 Mk1 Santa Fe Special. Cal: .303 British. MFG: 1945. S/N: V39476. Bolt action Rifle. 23 3/4'' Barrel. The semi pistol grip wood stock is good, with scratches Gouges, dents & wear from use/age, stock appears to have been lightly sanded & re-finished, most likely when it was sporterized by Golden state arms Co, 1'' by 1 1/2'' inlaid piece of wood at top of stock by buttplate. The metal finish rates 90% overall. Left side of wrist band is marked ''11/470'', ''1945'', ''ENGLAND'', ''39476'', left side of receiver is marked, ''NO.4 MK.1'', & S/N, rear of the barrel is marked with proof marks, left side of the barrel is marked, ''SANTA FE SPECIAL'', ''SANTA FE DIV. GOLDEN STATE ARMS CORP.'', ''PASADENA. CALIFORNIA. U.S.A.'', S/N Matching bolt. Bore is very good, bright & crisp rifling with light roughness in spots. Blade front sight, two position flip up ladder rear sight, sight in folded position has been ground down, ladder is marked 2 to 13, Brass trapdoor buttplate with hole is stock for cleaning kit, kit is missing, bottom sling swivels, front swivel is a after market add on rear is original. This is a English made No.4 Mk.1 lee Enfield that was imported by golden sate arms and sporterized by them & then sold on the American market. FFL Or C&R Req. - Value: 150 to 300
