Colt 1849 Pocket Pistol, CAL: 31, MFG: 1853, SN: 62660, Single Action Percussion Revolver, 4'' barrel. The top barrel flat is marked ''ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY'' & ''COLTS PATENT'' in two lines, on the left side of the frame. The full SN is repeated on the butt, trigger guard, frame & barrel housing. Partial correct SN ''2660'' on the wedge. The replaced wood grips are very good & solid. The right grip is heavily worn & the left has minor scrapes & buff marks. The original grips are included with the gun. The original right grip panel has a full length vertical crack. The metal finish has worn to gun metal gray, with a thin brown patina, with patchy areas of dark brown rust speckling. The ram rod was re-blued. The cylinder stagecoach scene is worn & not visible. The trigger guard & backstrap are brass, displaying an aged patina, with remnants of silver plating inside the trigger guard & grip. Bore is good, but with roughness & light pitting. The barrel holds a worn brass front bead. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
