Colt, Army Special, CAL: 32-20 WCF, MFG: 1910, SN: 324373, Double Action Revolver, 6'' barrel. The top of the barrel is marked in two lines ''COLT'S PT F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.'', ''PAT'D AUG.5.1884 JUNE 5.1900 JULY 4 1905''. The left side of the barrel is marked ''COLT ARMY SPECIAL 32-20 W.C.F''. The left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo. The full SN can be found on the frame & cylinder swing gate. The original, Colt marked checkered hard rubber grips are very good, with a worn edge chip on the bottom of the left grip. The metal blue finish rates 40%, with areas worn to metal grey & toned to a brown patina. Bore is excellent, with roughness between rifling. The barrel holds a blade front sight. Released in 1908 as the Colt Army Special, the revolver was renamed the ''Colt Official Police'' in 1927 in order to better market to law enforcement agencies. It became one of the best-selling police firearms of all time, eventually coming to exemplify typical law enforcement officer weaponry in the 1950's. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
