Colt, Police Positive, CAL: 38 SPL, MFG: 1919, SN: 182269, Double Action Revolver, 4 1/2'' barrel. The top of the barrel is marked in two lines ''COLT'S PT F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.'', ''PAT'D AUG.5.1884 JUNE5.1900 JULY 4 1905''. The left side of the barrel is marked ''POLICE POSITIVE 38 SPECIAL''. The left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo behind the cylinder release. The full SN can be found on the frame & cylinder swing gate. The original, Colt marked checkered plastic grips are excellent. The metal blue finish has worn to a mix of meta grey, brown patina & remaining original blue. Bore is very good, with roughness & intermittent pitting. The barrel holds a blade front sight. The Police Positive was very successful, along with the Colt Official Police. They dominated the law enforcement firearms market in the early 1900's. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 300 to 600
