Colt, Model COBRA, (Second Issue) CAL: 38 Special, MFG: 1977, SN: 97188M, Double Action Revolver, 2'' barrel. The Colt Cobra is a lightweight, aluminum-framed, double-action short-barreled revolver. It was made in 3 models: the First Model, made from 1950-71 & weighing 15 ounces unloaded with 2'' barrel, & an improved Second Model, made from 1972-81, recognizable by its shrouded ejector rod & Baughman-style ramp front sight, with an unloaded weight of 16 ounces. The third issue debuted from 2017. The left side of barrel is stamped ''COBRA .38 SPECIAL CTG''. They came with Colt gold medallion Pachmayr black checkered rubber grips, with pinky groove. The grips on this example are very good, with a rub & wear on the lower right side front edge. The mirror bright nickel finish is excellent, but does have some haze & fine brush lines. Bore is excellent. A collectible & popular short barreled snake revolver. FFL Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
