Wonderful Winchester, Model 1873, Third variation, .38 WCF Cal., MFG. 1886, SN: 217220, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Round barrel, Full mag, The original wood stocks are excellent & solid. Wood finish is original, with some minor handling marks, nicks & dings. The factory metal blue on barrel is 90%, with a couple of minor areas of scratches or cleaned rust pit speckling. The receiver displays 85% of the original high luster blue, which is well above average for this model, & 75% coverage on the mag starting to tone a bit plum. The case-hardened lever, hammer & trigger shows wonderful remains of case-colors. Bore is excellent & bright. The receiver is fitted with a Lyman flip-up & adjustable tang peep sight, while the barrel carries a height adjusting buckhorn rear sight & standard front sight. Stock carries a sliding trapdoor crescent metal buttplate, with muted case-colors, Original dust cover is tight & slides smoothly. Action is tight & smooth. Comes with a Cody Winchester Factory Records look-up sheet confirming dates & configuration. A wonderful, high condition & collector's quality rifle. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 8000 to 10000
