Winchester, Model 65, marked 218 BEE, MFG. 1939-41, SN: 1004451, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Round barrel, 1/2 mag holds 7 rounds, This is one of the rarest & fewest made Winchester models of all models produced, with only 5,704 total rifles. The rifle was evolved from the model 53 & production started 1933, with the 218 Bee caliber added in 1939. While .25-20 are the rarest, 218 Bee examples are in highest demand amongst collectors & command premium values. The original wood stocks on this example are very good & solid, darkend from use & applied oils. There are very small handling marks or contusions, & one 1/2'' gouge on the left side of stock. The metal blue finish rates 85% on the barrel, while the blue has worn, flaked & thinned to 40% on the receiver toning to a brown patina. The rifle is fitted with side mounted W.R. Weaver 29S Special Scope. Barrel carries an adjustable rear & hooded front ramp sights. Buttstock carries a factory metal checkered buttplate. Very good bore. Good eye appeal on this model 65 in the most desirable caliber.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 1500 to 3000
