Marlin, Model 1893 TAKE-DOWN .30-30 Cal. MFG. 1903, SN: 281746, Lever Action Rifle, 26'' Octagon barrel, Full mag. The original wood stocks are very good & solid, with several minor nicks, scratches & contusions. The original finish shows some thinning & flaking mostly on the stock, along with darkening at the wrist from use. There are six small kill notches along the left side edge of forend. There is also a small notch taken off the peak of the comb to accommodate a previously mounted tang sight with aperture. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 40%, having thinned & toned to a gray/ brown patina. The finish on the mag & receiver, has worn mostly gun metal gray, with a thin brown patina. Mounted on barrel with a full buckhorn adjustable rear sight & folding globe front sight. Has two open factory holes on the upper tang from an absent tang sight. Bore is very good. Crescent metal buttplate. Tight action. Nice looking old lever hunting rifle. FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
