Savage, Model 1895, 75th Anniversary , CAL: marked 308 WIN, MFG: 1970, SN: 3721A5, Lever Action Rifle, 24'' Octagon barrel. The rifle celebrates the 75th anniverary of the 1895 rifle, which soon became the iconic 1899 & 99 rifles. Decorative gold washed engravings on the receiver. The straight grip walnut stocks are excellent. The wood retains the majority of the original finish, with a few minor handling marks or thin scratches. Schnabel forend & commemorative brass medallion embedded in the stock. The original metal blue finish on the barrel rates 95%, 90% on the receiver. Like the originals, round counter on the left side of receiver. Bore is excellent. The rifle is fitted with a flip-up leaf adjustable rear sight & brass blade front sight. Buttstock carres a brass crescent buttplate. The gold wash in the engravings has mostly worn away. The gold wash on the lever has also mostly worn to the nickeled underlayer. MFG 9,999 in 1970 only, but speculation is that less of them were actually produced & sold.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 600 to 1000
