Colt Lightning, Medium Frame, CAL: 38, MFG: 1890, SN: 42965, Pump Action Rifle, 26'' Round barrel, Full mag. The factory straight grip wood stocks are very good, with a checkered forend. The stock has an added layer of finish over the original finish. There is a brass peg at the wrist adding strength & stability. The is a 1 1/2'' grain crack emanating from the upper tang & there are other small dings, scratches & contusions. The checkering is very good, but starting to smooth some from normal use. The original metal finish has worn mostly gun metal gray, with a thin brown layer of patina remaining. Bore is good, with areas of roughness amongst strong rifling. Rifle is fitted with an adjustable rear & long blade front sights. Crescent metal buttplate. A nice example of an early pump rifle. Antique, No FFL Req. - Value: 1000 to 2000
