Colt Lightning Small Frame, CAL: 22, MFG: 1889, SN: 8007, Pump Action Rifle, 24'' Tapered octagon barrel. Early production 3rd yr rifle. The original straight grip wood stock & checkered forend are excellent, with numerous minor scratches, contusions mostly on the stock. There is an added layer of protective finish over the original finish on the stock. Checkering on the forend is excellent. The restored metal blue finish rates 98%, toning a bit plum on the receiver. Bore is fair, with pitting & roughness amongst worn but still visible rifling. The barrel holds a shallow V-notch rear sight & small blade front sight. Buttstock carries a Colt marked checkered hard rubber buttplate. Still presents very nicely as a good example of an early pump .22 rifle.* FFL or C&R Req. - Value: 800 to 1500
