Winchester, Model 1890 2nd variation, .22 SHORT Cal., MFG. 1894, SN: 30930, Pump Action Rifle, 24 3/8'' Octagon barrel. The original straight grip wood stocks are very good & solid, appearing to carry the original finishes. Due to swelling & shrinkage, there is some fill at the wrist where the stock meets the receiver. There is also minor handling marks & light scratches. The original metal blue finish has worn & faded to a gray, toning brown finish remaining at 50% on the barrel, 70% on the mag. The case-hardened receiver displays the faint remains & outlines of original case-colors. The barrel holds a fixed rear & blade front sights. The bore is good, with some roughness amongst strong rifling. Crescent metal buttplate. Tight smooth action. Mag tube has LR sized feeding slot. The rifle has a nice appearance as an early case-colored, 2nd variation, Short only rifle. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
