Winchester, Model 1890 2nd variation, .22 SHORT Cal., MFG. 1897, SN: 53438, Pump Action Rifle, 24'' Octagon barrel. The original straight grip wood stocks are good & solid, displaying worn & thinning original finish, along with scratches & contusions. The original metal blue finishes have worn to a spotty brownpatina, with spotty areas of pitting. The case-colors on the case-hardened receiver have fully faded & a thin & spotty brown patina remains. The barrel holds a fixed rear & blade front sights. The bore is fair, with roughness amongst faint rifling. Crescent metal buttplate. Tight smooth action. Mag tube has LR sized feeding slot. Still serviceable & original early case-hardened, 2nd variation, Short only rifle. Antique No FFL Req. - Value: 500 to 1000
